The Root of Community

Community grows from what we have in common!

Devon and James have been in community since 1991. At quick glance you may spot that they are both bald. You might be deceived into thinking that they do not have similar BMI (body mass index). This picture was taken two years ago, and physical things do change!

Since these two men have a relationship, they, themselves are best qualified to identify some of the things they have in common:

  • We believe in treating all people with dignity.
  • We both met in the very multicultural Maples area of Winnipeg.
  • We both have had many homes.
  • We both believe we serve a higher purpose.
  • We believe in the Divine Creator of All.
  • We love people.
  • We love hanging out with children and youth. We want to make the world a better place.
  • We believe in family.
  • We love people for who they are.
  • We believe in the human race.
  • We believe in equality, diversity, and justice. We love Canada.
  • We believe in forgiveness.
  • We believe in restorative practices.
  • We believe empowering all people to achieve their potential.
  •  We believe in peace above war.
  • There is plenty more we’re certain.
