Lorraine Butters Boyle is my Mom. She was a talented pianist and a prolific photographer.
She played in a dance band in the 1940s. She played for church and taught church choirs from the time she was a teenager until her kids were out of their teens! In the 1980s, Dad acquired a tape recorder and they would pass their winters recording while Mom played. Some of the resulting tapes survived and have been posted to Mom’s music page. Mom created photo albums throughout her life, and these were always readily available in her living room. In her later years she assembled four large scrapbooks of memorabilia.

jamie buhler is a local author living in North East Manitoba. He has never been fulfilled doing only one thing at a time. Early on in his career, he was in full-time public church-based ministry and it didn’t fit. Later on, he was dissatisfied with working full time in the marketplace. Now he does both. At the same time. And has never felt more in tune with God’s call.
While running his own company (property management), he also consults with churches and ministries. He preaches semi-regularly, writes on Medium and is in the process of re-releasing a book on messy spirituality that he wrote about 10 years ago.

Robin Boyle is our trans-granddaughter. She was born and raised in Edmonton.
She has demonstrated her musical inspiration since she was a toddler. Writing from her experiences as a transgender woman, her music focuses on the theme of growth, self-discovery and experiencing the world authentically.
She is also studying Business Administration at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) with a goal of achieving a stable income to support herself and her passions.

Howard Jolly is a Cree from Waskaganish, Quebec, currently residing in Manitoba. He is the former Executive Director of the First Nations Alliance Churches of Canada and was previously the pastor of the Winnipeg First Nations Community Church. Howard is also the lead singer of the Rising Above Band, a ministry that blends gospel, contemporary worship, hymns, and original music with a country gospel sound.
Howard’s life story reflects a powerful transformation through faith, and he is dedicated to honoring both his people and his beliefs. He has also written songs inspired by significant events, such as visiting the unmarked graves of Indigenous children

Our parents were the creators of a substantial amount of content in BoyleParkMedia. All four were photographers, and our mothers both assembled a trove of albums and other collections.

Ron Penner writes from Leduc Alberta. Born and raised in Saskatchewan he spent 46 years in the oil industry until Covid forced his retirement. He is father of two and grandfather of two.
