The Klann Place

When we first moved here we began to meet people in the community: at the store; auction sales; community events … We discovered the easiest way to describe where we lived was “On The Klann Place”. We had purchased this farm from a Klann estate. That summer one of the members of the family came for a visit and told us some of the history.

This log building had been constructed in 1932 as a chicken coop. Mr Klann hauled to logs from the woods with a horse. Later, we discovered this old plow in the bush. We pulled it out and created a piece of “yard art” as a tribute to the Klann heritage.
