Lorraine’s Movie Guide, January to April, 1944

Jan 1      Elton took all us kids to the show “Lets Face It”, Bob Hope. A scream.

Jan 4      Doris & I went to show tonight. “Claudia”. Real good. A young married couple on a farm. She looked like sixteen.

Jan 14    Dean took us back into the show. Fred Astaire & Joan Leslie in “The Sky’s the Limit” Fairly good.

Jan 17    Doris & I went to the 9 o’clock show. Mickey Rooney in “Andy Hardy’s Double Life”. Good.

Jan 31    Doris & I went to see “This is the Army”. It was perfect! Joan Leslie is sure swell. Lots of grand music (Ronald Reagan, George Murphy.)

Feb 5     Mae & I saw the show, “Sahara” with Humphrey Bogart. Was grand. All on the desert. Not a woman in it.

Feb 7     Went to the show “Old Acquaintance” Bette Davis. It didn’t end right.

Mar 13  Went to show tonight. “Northern Pursuit” with Errol Flynn. Perfect picture. Waited a half hour to get in to theatre.

Apr 15   Mom & we girls, Doreen & Mrs. Stutt saw show. “The Gangs all here” Carmen Miranda, Alice Faye, Phil Baker.

Apr 24   Went to the show. “Guadalcanal Diary” (Preston Foster.) It was swell.
