“it’s only by God’s grace that we will be safe and warm“

Don’t Worry!

Greetings to everyone, wow it’s cold out, I see forecast lows for -42c in some areas.

Don’t Worry!

I heard two fellows talking this Saturday afternoon about the cold. One man was really concerned about people who needed to be outside because of their jobs and for the homeless. And the other man quoted Philippians 4:6(Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart.) And I at first thought what a good response, just ask God to keep people safe that have to work outside in such bitter cold and for the homeless. Then the other man said that’s kind of easy to say, but people will still be at risk to frostbite and other things that happen when working in such weather and have no real shelter. And I then thought of something that I think is very important when we are trying to pray and encourage people who are facing real challenges in their lives.

Hebrews 4:16 (Let us be brave, then, and approach God’s throne, where there is grace. There we will receive mercy and find grace to help us just when we need it.)

So I am praying that God’s grace will be with everyone in this bitter cold weather. Because it’s only by God’s grace that we will be safe and warm. I pray that God will meet all our needs this week Amen 🙏. Preaching at Wayside Gospel Chapel this morning.
