Greetings To You All, we have finally got some harvest weather in our area, praise God!

Suffering and Thankfulness

Almost everyone I have met in my life, have gone through some kind of suffering. For some it’s grief, others it’s financial loss, for some relationships have broken down, many have had to deal with health issues. Others have faced persecution for their faith in Jesus Christ.

And I am always amazed when people share that they are thankful for having gone through their time of trials, some even rejoicing in the Lord. So I am going to share about something that I went through 20 years ago this past Friday October 13th. It’s hard to believe it’s 20 years already since I had cancer surgery and follow up treatments. And I can honestly say I am thankful for having had that experience in my life. Sure, there were thoughts of fear and some thoughts of what if God doesn’t show me his favour. But my faith told me regardless of the end results God would be with me so I gave everything to my Lord, and I had his peace.

Now, as I sit writing this post 20 years later, I’m still in good health. The reason why I am thankful for is that because of the suffering I went through and the testing of my faith, I can easily identify with others who are going through some real life challenges regarding their own health issues.

James 1:2-3 (Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.)

I pray for us all that when we are tested by some kind of trials, we would trust God and persevere and that God will meet all our needs this week. Amen
