Over the past four years it has been a delight to digitize all of the family heritage that I can find. This includes: photos; audio; documents; video. Looking back, I can see how the plan (which I never really had!) has been unfolding. The first step was to capture information, which mostly included scanning photos and 35mm slides. This produced a digital inventory, which has been loaded on our website and which is now the basis of this hobby for the rest of my life.
Now I spend time working through this inventory, organizing, enhancing, categorizing and presenting. One delightful side benefit, for this old guy, is that I get to relive and sometimes rediscovery past events.
This week I am enhancing the year 1988 which includes Mom & Dad’s 40th Wedding Anniversary. I came across the text of Aunt Shirley’s Toast to the Bride & Groom. What a memory of the personalities of everyone involved.
(if the typewritten text is had to read, scroll down for a computer rendered version of the words)
