One year ago, we launched our personal website: BoyleParkMedia.ca for our archive of photos, diaries and music. Our website now contains 18 GB of digitized material. There are about 19,000 images stored (many of these images are photo album pages which contain multiple images) comprising an estimated 30,000 photos.
The project to transcribe Lorraine Boyle’s 1944-1948 Diary is 60% complete. See Lorraine’s Diary HERE.
We have now completed publishing our photos from the Decade of the 1980s. See our “Decade of Adventures” HERE.
We have just completed scanning and publishing the Seafoot Collection of photo albums which is on-loan from Blair Seafoot. You can view these albums a part of “A Century Photos” HERE. (Then scroll through until you find an album of interest.)
The collections that comprise BoyleParkMedia.ca are at various stages of completion. Our priority was to first scan the raw material, load it to the website and try to assign it to an historical time frame. This material is now available as source material to create specialized galleries. These galleries can be Travelogues (such as our 2018 Trip to The Arctic Ocean), or Memorials (such as our slide show entitled “Uncle Al”), or whatever else we can dream up! These collections can also be selectively linked to on-line genealogy searches.
Many originals in this raw inventory are candidates for quality improvement. In time, it is planned that all pages with multiple photos will separated into their components; and some images can then be enhanced using the latest software tools. (In our house we call this quilting since the process involves cutting up, enhancing and then stitching back together!)
This material is open to research by anyone. We would love to consider your requests for permission to use.
