First Hand Account from June 6, 1944

Here is my Mom’s diary entry on June 6, 1944.

Mom & her friend, Doris, were 18 year old roommates living in the Canadian Prairies.

“June 6/Tues. Doris went down town & I peeled the potatoes. The Invasion of Europe started today. 11,000 men; 4000 ships. Doris played Wolf tonight & whistled at everyone who went by. In bed at ten, thank goodness.
