Photo Albums On-line

Four years ago, we returned home from Mom’s funeral. One thing that came with us was her extensive library of photo albums, scrap books and a couple of cassette tapes.

We added this treasure trove to our own extensive collection of historic images.

Goodness, these now consumed a lot of storage space! And then came the question of “what are our kids going to do with this ever-growing boxed archive?” (As one member of this household pointed out “That stuff is taking a lot of space that could be used to store my quilters stash!”)

The solution was to dig out an old scanner. We set the scanner and computer on a special table in the TV room. And proceeded to watch Netflix and run the scanner at the same time. This process took almost two years.

Next step was to organize, store and provide access to, this digitized media.

The solution was to create a website, for our descendants, and to begin to populate it with this content. This is a work-in-progress, and will be, for a few more years.
