Brenholm’s were here for rhubarb, befoe they left they had to push our car to get it started. I studied, bathed & went to bed.

25           Sun. It rained hard & Wey. had a little hail. Studied this morn. Had the “Unveiling of the Honor Roll” at church this afternoon. The service was grand. Church was full. Even people out from town. Mom, Isabelle & I sang “The Glory Song.” Trumans (with Marge) were here for supper. Nice time.

27           Tues. Was up at 6.30. Studied Comp then went to school and wrote it. It was fairly good. Finished at eleven. Had dinner alone, studied Chemistry & went back & wrote it. Tough. Washed dishes & cleaned up the place after four. Had supper with Pat & Chris. Took some onions & sour cream to Sorells.

29           Thurs. Wrote ag.ec. this afternoon. Just six of us at school, Mom & Dad came to town for me, though I wanted to see the show. Dad & Elton were at a sale at Halbite. Dad bought a horse. He was at Trumans for supper. Doris was up. I walked part way home with her & met Bob. He asked me to play tomorrow night. I curried Stubby, chased cows etc. The men brought the horse back. We sang until then (midnight) & had lunch. Isabelle had Connie over for the evening.

30           Fri. Hot!!! Worked like the dickens cleaning etc, then went to town with Mr. Stutt & Doris. We moved all our stuff out, & brought Eveline to our place. Went to Riverview picnic. Wilma had ridden the bike, so I came home right after supper, & got ready to go to Halbrite, & left at eight. The four of us rode in Charlie’s car. Good dance. Tired. Didn’t got home at 3.30.

This is the darkest time in World War II. Weyburn hosted an airbase for BCATP (British Commonwealth Air Training Plan). In other words, the town is filled with eligible young airmen from all over the world …
