As I outlined in the “Bush Boat” post, everyone loves a hay wagon ride.
The kids, however, being kids (or perhaps just being Boyles), wanted a bit more adventure. They said “Grampy, is it OK if we jump off?” I looked at the situation and, several years ago, gave permission to jump off the back. Then they would run to catch up, and, of course, Grampy would gun the tractor, just to make it more thrilling. Much hilarity ensued!
Turns out, God had an additional plan, He was developing athletes! William, who turns 14 today (August 3, 2016), has participated in “The Running of the Boyles” for years. This morning he is boarding a plane to Montreal to compete in the Legion Nationals. (of course, this precluded him from participating in this year’s “Running of the Boyles” — risk of injury, etc.)
He competes in the 1200 metre event on Friday and the 1500 metre steeplechase on Sunday. You can watch at sportscanada.tv/legiontrack/
