Visiting Grandma Virtually (old school)

ME: “hey Son, did you see my post about virtual presence technology for staying in touch with isolated family?”

#3 SON: “why, what’s wrong with the cell phone I’m talking on right now?”

ME: “ … uuhhh”

At that point, I thought about the Uncle that I have not been able to talk to since March. I called my Aunt, and she gave me his phone number saying “He would love that. He may not remember you called, but that’s a good thing to do!”

Yesterday, I tried my Uncle four times, on the fifth try, after several rings, he answered and immediately recognized our voices!! We had a great chat!!!

This morning, my Aunt called me to say: “He couldn’t wait to call to let me know that you called! He was delighted!!!”

My lesson is “remember to use the virtual technologies that are available, tried and true”

If your grandparent is no longer able to work with a phone, then consider some other remotely operated the devices. CLICK HERE!
