Pleased to Pay Full Retail

We used to live in a big city where one of the marketing slogans was: “You didn’t pay full retail did you?”

I’m delighted to report that we now buy all of our groceries at the local store and we are “Pleased to pay full retail!” We are absolutely convinced that we save money.

If we choose we can still drive to the big city: and drive around to the stores with the best flyer prices; jostle for parking; consume more of the hated carbon tax; and invest hours of our week enjoying the coveted entertainment of the Big Box Experience!!

Then we discovered that the locally owned store had to go to the city every week to do just that! So why should we duplicate what a young business family is already doing?

Sherwood Forest Grocery, owned by Jeff and Tricia Gallop, has a motivation that many big stores don’t. They are building trust amongst their community of friends. We are delighted to pay what they ask because we know they will be fair since they have a community reputation to build and maintain!

In addition, we avoid the “plastic bag angst,” because this store packs our order in recycled cardboard boxes! Go Green!
