Me: We’re Ilah and Bessie friends before Ilah and Sydney became an item?
Joan

No . Grandma was hired by McKinnons as a seamstress . Great Grandma was in shopping and saw both Grandma and Emily . She went home and told Grandpa about the two new ladies and that one had red hair . So Grandpa and Russell went down too see . They were living at a boarding house . The child in the photo of the legislature was the daughter of the woman who ran the boarding house . Apparently aunt Isabelle introduced her to mom when she was a senior citizen . Sydney brought Grandma home to meet the family when they started courting ! Bessie and Harry travelling to Ontario for their honeymoon . They went to meet Harry’s family and then to London to visit Sydney and Ilah. They met the Brown’s at that time .

Me: Does this look about right: “Winnifred Wollett, From Joan Allan 20201228 Winnifred is Nora (Brown) Wollett’s daughter. Nora is sister to Ilah (Brown) Bullis. They also had a brother Harry who was also deployed (Navy) and suffered a war related hearing injury.
Beth (Bullis) Allan Truhlar met Bill and Nora Carey in the 1970s when Bill and Nora were on their way to Ottawa to delivery a German helmet (spike and all) to the Canadian War Museum.”
Joan
Harry was Winifreds brother and Ilahs nephew .

Bessie and Sydney were always very close . Due to that bond the families had strong connections . Example many visits were made to Baltimore and Coburg over three generation’s . Even when Westerners weren’t present . We went with mom to visit Aunt Ethel . Also visited Jean Butters in hospital and rehabilitation after hip surgery . So this is why it continues to this day .
