Eleanor is the first grandchild to make us great-grandparents … to a horse!
Sisco joined our family this week. He will be one year old on May 4, 2024. He lives on a nearby farm where Eleanor does a lot of work.

There is an old saying about “putting the cart before the horse,” in Eleanor’s situation, it was a case of the “saddle before the horse!” This saddle arrived nearly two years ago from Grandma Deb Vos’ mother-in-law.
Sisco joins a family with many horse connections. The Vos-Willy line of Eleanor’s family has a colourful history with horses. These stories are being gathered for future publication.
For Eleanor’s Seafoot-Boyle line, here is what we know:

Here is great-grandpa Keith Boyle with his horses in 1937.
Great-great-grandpa Harry Butters and his prize team in 1937:

Great-grandma Lorraine Butters Boyle when she was Eleanor’s age.
Great-great-grandpa Charlie Boyle looked dapper at the Colgate Fair in 1955.

Great-auntie Sally Boyle had Rocket in 1965.
Great-auntie Brenda (Seafoot) McMillan won a horse in a raffle draw. However, the horse made the mistake of biting great-grandpa Bud Seafoot and was sold. The proceeds were used to buy two bicycles.
