Uncle Doug took Dad and me fishing at a lake north of Lloydminster. This was my catch.
Massey-Harris #17 pull-type combine. It had a pickup and the cut grain was moved from the pickup along the table, to the feeder, on a wide canvas. (The combine is older than the girl with the saddle shoes!) I remember 1961 as a dry, low-yield year. The next year, 1962, was a “bumper” crop and I remember that after about 100 feet on the first heavy swath, Dad abandoned this model, right where it sat, and went to town and bought a slightly newer IH140.
