June Rains
This towing arrangement was likely a solution for muddy ground (note the earlier photo of June rains). Aunt Wilma remembers that she helped. I assume she was driving the Massey in the middle since it looks like Keith on the John Derre at the front and Charlie on the combine. This combine has it’s own motor and was originally designed to be pulled by horses. The oral history in the Boyle Family is that Grandpa Charlie purchased both the combine and the 16 ft swather in 1928.
