Day 2

Day #2 – Sunday, June 16 Old Town

Mike began the day, coffee in hand, with a walk through New Town. This photo highlights the ubiquitous row housing architecture from the early to mid-1800s. I am personally fascinated by chimney construction that provided for open fireplace heating in each room.

We then took an uber to Castle Rock to stroll The Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. The driver said “It’s starting to get busy up there, but I’ll get you as close as possible to the castle entrance as the pedestrian traffic will allow.”
