Happy New Year. Got all the laundry done up for James and Jess and they got their packing underway. Just a quiet day. We finished going through all the slides this evening. It was fun to see them all again.

Chris was the speaker at church this morning. I came back to the house between services and picked up James, Jessica and Eleanor. Off to the airport after church as this is the day the J.Boyles travel home. We had a great Christmas week together.

I had planned on tackling my office work this morning but we ended up going to Beausejour for hair cuts and to take some Overcomer’s books to Ken S. I did get lunch out though so that was nice.

This was an office workday and I managed to get most of it done – even printing off the CRA payroll deductions tables for this year. I managed to get in a snowshoe. First one for this winter. I even got the Christmas decorations put away.

Our Winnipeg day. Chris bought a new digital camera. We had lunch at a new place “ Lisi’s Ranch House” – very good food. A stop at Walmart and then home. Chris started cleaning the carpets. The bedroom was done by evening.

Mom 88 years old today. She sounded really good when I called her today. I was busy getting caught up on a lot of my office work. Chris cleaned the carpet in the living room. We finished watching Season 7 of “24”.

Windy and blustery, a good day to stay indoors. Overcomers Outreach in the evening. I managed to work on Craig’s “Beatles” quilt again. I don’t know if he’ll get it in time for his birthday or not.

It was a bright sunny day with no wind. We managed to get out snowshoeing. I finished the top of Craig’s “Beatles” quilt. Now I just have to sew the backing. I picked out the fabric for Ken Sundelin’s quilt. The pattern is called “The 12 Step Program”.

Church and lunch with Alex and Dora Cross. Then off to Winnipeg for a short visit with Mike and Gayleen, William and Ashton. Ashton played drums for us and William played his guitar. They both sounded good. Then we caught a flight to Edmonton. We are staying at the downtown Delta hotel as Craig and Dena’s household has stomach flu.

I walked with Chris partway to his work this morning. Came back to the room and enjoyed some reading and cross stitch. I met Chris for lunch but I had already had mine so enjoyed a glass of wine. Supper (after the jacuzzi tub) and then went to the movie “The King’s Speech”

I walked with Chris farther to his work this morning than yesterday. Jess and Eleanor arrived about 11:00 a.m. We went to the food court for lunch, had the PHO noodle bowl. We just enjoyed the afternoon together though Eleanor was somewhat fussy.

Eleanor is 6 months old today. I have gotten a cold and very sore throat. Of course, this dry hotel air does not help at all. Lunch with Chris’s co-workers today. Supper and early to bed.

I am not feeling too well today, a very sore throat and ears. I went to a movie this afternoon and found a cute snowsuit for Eleanor at The Bay at 50% off. We had a good flight home – home by 11:00p.m.

Felt really miserable today, darned cold. Jake and Barbara Krahn came by for some firewood. Ron, Leanne and Chantel came for supper and sleep over. Ron and Chris will attend the Mens Breakfast at the church tomorrow morning.

I was up real early to get some office book work done. I felt somewhat better today, but it didn’t last long. Leanne and I visited while I cut the strips for a new quilt I am starting for Ken S. Leanne picked out the colours for Aleatha’s baby quilt. I will make it up and see.

I did not go to church and have cancelled my trip to Edmonton this week. I just do not feel well. I took Chris to Selkirk and Michael met us there and took Chris the rest of the way to the airport. Home for me and I just sat in front of the fire for the rest of the day.

Phoned for a Dr’s appointment this morning and by the grace of our Lord I got one for the afternoon. Sinus infection – back on antibiotics – amoxicillin for 14 days. It took quite a while at the pharmacy because of computer problems. I also got a few groceries.

I am very tired today because I decided to get up at 6:00 a.m. Oh well I had a good nap in the afternoon. Then I ventured out to feed the cats. Started the machine piecing on Ken Sundelin’s quilt for his birthday.

Just a day indoors. I managed to get Craig’s quilt layered and ready for hand quilting. Ken and Judy Sundelin brought over our ½ of beef – $578.99 (2.40/pound). I am still feeling fuzzy headed from these anti-biotics.

Sunny with quite a windchill. All the kitties were sunning themselves on the wood pile when McPhee and I journeyed to the barn to feed them. Chris’s plane was an hour late getting in, about 10:30 p.m. I just went into Winnipeg in time to pick him up at the airport.

Brr – real cold this morning but sunny and no wind. To Beausejour by 8:00 a.m. for the Overcomers Outreach open house/training program. We had a real good turnout and lots of literature sales. We had the Overcomers 24 week program this evening – Step 6 – half way done.

Our Winnipeg day – saw our financial advisor, lunch with our accountant and several other stops. Chris attended the men’s business meeting at the church this evening. I went over and sat with Lorna Thomas so Ralph could attend.

Our day in Steinbach – lunch with Ron and Leanne and Chantel McMillan and April and Rylee Harms. Chris and I attended the funeral for Jacob Krahn’s father. Met up with the McMillan’s again later for some MCC shopping. An enjoyable day spent with family.

It was a snowy day. Chris to Winnipeg for the Arctic Co-op work. I baked raisin bread and worked on my quilts. Chris attended the Overcomers Outreach meeting tonight. He tried to pick me up for the meeting but there was too much snow.

A sunny day today. Chris had his Selkirk meeting this morning but first had to snow blow the lane. I worked on my quilts and practiced my guitar. It was basically a relaxing day spent in front of the fire. We watched “Secretariat” tonight.

We had Teen Challenge at church this morning. They rocked the roof off to a packed house. Chris and I went to Winnipeg afterwards. Dropped off McPhee at Mike and Gayleen’s and we headed to the Clarion Hotel (the Moroccan room) for our little holiday.

Our day of holiday – late breakfast and then walked over to the theatre for the movie “True Grit”. We really enjoyed it. Back to Moxies for a drink, then just enjoyed the rest of the day in our room.

We checked out of the hotel then went to Mothers Music to buy a six-string guitar. We picked up McPhee and headed for home – stopping at Safeway on the way for groceries. It was a very cold morning with high wind chills. Poor Croc (cat) has an injured ear.

Back to Winnipeg to meet the Pastor at Calvary Temple for Overcomers Outreach donation. Then we enjoyed lunch with Wayne and Heather Howell and got caught up on each other’s lives. Mr. Ground Hog saw his shadow so six more weeks of winter (at least).

To Selkirk for Walmart shopping and Chris’s regular Saturday meeting. Then to Winnipeg to do a few errands. We enjoyed lunch on our way home at Rembrandts. This evening we had Lesson 7 of the 24-week program. It went well. Happy Birthday Blair, 42 years old.

I tried a new recipe for short ribs in the crock pot. It wasn’t as tasty as I thought it might be. I can’t seem to get my working mind organized today. So, I did some quilting instead. Are we surprised about that Haha.

Our day at Steinbach for lunch with Ron, Leanne and Chantel McMillan. We always make it a priority to spend some time at the MCC thrift store. Then we headed to Winnipeg to drop off a shipment at UPS and printing to be done at Staples. We were home in time for supper.

Our Women’s Ministry meeting this morning at 9:30. We enjoyed brunch and had the revealing of our Heart Sisters for the past year and the opportunity to choose a new one. We also heard the presentation from Yvonne McPherson and Carol Main about their Mexico mission trip. It was very good.

A nice sunny morning. I could feel my spirits lift. I did Office work till early afternoon then I made a batch of cookies and prepared a Valentines supper. We watched two hours of “The Bachelor” because it was filmed in Anguilla. The Bachelor is a horrible tv show.

Happy 1st Birthday Rylee Grace Harms. It was quite stormy this morning. We had chiropractor appointments this morning in Lac du Bonet. We enjoyed lunch out and then off to Alex and Dora Cross to deliver the gift from the church as a remembrance of the death of Alex’s sister. The professional mixers I bought with Air Miles were delivered this morning at Gayleen’s.

Sunny morning – laundry and last-minute chores before heading into the city to pick up Chris at the airport and head out to Lloydminster/Edmonton/Lethbridge. We spent the night in Portage La Prairie. Before we headed out of the city, we managed to watch William and Ashton’s swimming lesson.

Clear and cold – good driving weather – made it to Lloydminster by suppertime. We have organized our Overcomers Outreach training session for tomorrow morning. Early to bed for us

We had 8 attendees for our Overcomers Outreach workshop. Enjoyed lunch with the Lloydminster rep for Overcomers and then off to Edmonton in time for supper with Craig and Dena and the children. It was a good evening visiting.

Dena’s day off so we did some shopping at the fabric store. I was looking for backing and border fabric for Ken Sundelin’s quilt. We picked up Caitlin from kindergarten then off to Ikea to look around and enjoy some hotdogs for lunch. We took Kirena, Sean and Caitlin out for supper at Humpty’s restaurant, their choice.
