24 for Eggs Benedict Brunch including us. It was a great meal and an enjoyable time spent together. We had 3 sittings. Mike and Gayleen brought friends and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves with various activities. Chris and I just relaxed this evening.

Sunny but very cold. A great day for relaxing. We started watching 24 Season 6 and made it through the first 8 hours. That is called binge watching.

Church day – it was a cold morning. Alex and Dora Cross were over for lunch afterwards. Just enjoyed the rest of the day. David Delaloye called Chris at 11:00 p.m. for a ride to Selkirk Hospital – severe tonsilitis. Chris back home by 3:30 a.m.

I had my mammogram this morning, in and out real fast. We did a quick grocery shop then home to tackle my office work. We visited a church family this afternoon – Re: a problem with “hurts” caused by someone at church.

Happy 87th Birthday Mom!! I called Mom for her birthday – she sounds well – still waiting for her medical appointment in Saskatoon. More church drama which cannot be detailed here.

Our date day – lunch at Joey’s and then to see the movie “Avatar” in 3D. It was quite an enjoyable movie. We had supper with Mike, Gayleen, William and Ashton. Enjoyed a quick game of Monopoly before we headed for home. I finally won a game!

I finally got my “Season Freezin” quilt, started several years ago, sandwiched and ready to start the hand quilting. It was a real workout as I usually spread everything out on the basement floor.

Chris’s men’s meeting in Selkirk this morning – he spoke at the Men’s Purity meeting. I did some laundry and just puttered around. Chris picked up a couple of storage containers to store the Overcomers Outreach books and our set of encyclopedias.

A beautiful day with a strong south wind. Chris finished the pine wall project on the north wall of the living room. Just the trimming pieces to do. We are feeling like we have been put through the wringer with all the negative church stuff.

Our Winnipeg day for this week. Met Michael and Ashton for lunch at Salisbury House. Then we went and tackled all our errands. Chris bought a blue tooth for his cell phone to use in the car. Supper with Michael and Gayleen and the boys before coming home.

Worked at some financial things, some office work and of course did some more work on my “Autumn” quilt. Chris finished the pine work on the T.V. wall. I will varathane the trim and the last little bit added tomorrow.

A beautiful sunny day with temperatures on the plus side. We went to Pine Falls today to attend the funeral of a relative of one of the ladies of our congregation. It was in the Catholic church. Snowshoed when we got home.

A full house at church this morning. The weather was great today. I just vegged out for the rest of the day, read and sewed and watched tv.

Busied myself with some office work and then as a reward I spent quite a bit of time working on my Autumn quilt. Got in some snowshoeing. It is a fun activity when the weather is pleasant.

A run around day for Chris. First up to Hillside Power Products to take the chainsaw in for a check-up. Bible study this evening. I am getting tired of church. We had coffee with John and Mary this afternoon.

We decided to have a day out and about so to Pine Falls for fabric. We enjoyed lunch at Seven Sisters (all you can eat schnitzel). Then to Beausejour for groceries. It was a nice day, weatherwise. I baked an apple pie to take into Mike and Gayleen’s tomorrow.

Our day in Winnipeg. We took the “Grandmother’s Clock” to a clock repair place as it doesn’t bong properly. He told us it would be 10 months to a year’s wait. We enjoyed lunch at Joey’s and a movie “It’s Complicated”. It was very funny. Supper with Mike and Gayleen, William and Ashton. Played cards with William after supper and then home.

We managed to get out snowshoeing today, though the snow was a little sticky. Ken S came by for supper before the Overcomers Outreach meeting this evening. He and Chris were doing some planning.

The first meeting of the Men’s Purity Group in Selkirk this morning. The highways were not too bad, a little slushy. I managed to get some housework done up and the laundry and of course some sewing. I got the receiving blankets sewn for James and Jess’s baby due in July.

It didn’t freeze at all overnight. Our road is rather slippery and some parts of the highway are quite slushy. We had a fair turnout at church. Chris used the snowblower to get the wet slushy snow off the lane and the trails to the barn. It is to storm and get quite cold tonight. James sold the Toyota Tercel back to Sally.

Windy with lots of blowing snow. The schools were closed as well as many of the highways. I finished sewing the top and the backing for my “Autumn” quilt. I don’t know when I will get it sandwiched and hand quilted. It was cold today, only McPhee went outside.

Our city day. I visited with Gayleen while Chris had his short meeting at Arctic Co-op. Then we ran a few errands. Chris also had a sales meeting at the Winnipeg Police Service in the afternoon. I hung out at Portage Place Mall. We were home by late afternoon.

Some office work and I baked bread and a cake. Chris and I had a church visitation this afternoon. Ron, Leanne and Chantel McMillan arrived in time for supper. We had an Overcomers Outreach meeting to finish off our day.

Chris and Ron McMillan off to the Men’s Breakfast at Stead Ranch. Leanne, Chantel and I off to Selkirk for breakfast at A&W and a Walmart excursion. Chris and I attended Ralph Thomas’s 80th birthday come and go celebration later in the afternoon. It was a cold and sunny day and a full moon this evening.

Joan Allan left a message on our phone that her mother had had a heart attack last evening. We will leave for Toronto when needed. Bible Study this evening – my turn to take lunch. I started sewing April’s baby quilt.

Hair cuts in Beausejour and lunch at Jennifer’s in Seven Sisters. Came home to the news that Beth Truhlar passed away late morning. We booked our flights to Toronto, will go into Wpg tonight for our early morning flight.

We arrived in Toronto about noon. Joan Allan picked us up at the airport – spent the afternoon helping Joan out re: lawyer, getting the will from the safety deposit box. We went to our hotel after supper, the Admiral Inn – recommended to us by Vic and Marion Dyck.

Happy Birthday Blair. I phoned in the evening. We are happy with this hotel – nice comfortable room and includes a hot breakfast. Our first stop of the day was to pick up flowers for Joan from Mom B. We took Joan to the funeral home to ID the body – next stop the bank – financials – then to the church for funeral planning.

We were at Joans by 10:30 a.m. We went to “Sunrise” where she works, as there were some “Valentine” items to drop off. This is a very expensive seniors care home. We visited with Ed Truhlar in the afternoon and did a few other errands.

We decided to go to Niagara Falls for the day. It is spectacular – with ice, and mist. Not as many people either. We drove along the shoreline on our way back. Lunched and shopped in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It was a beautiful sunny day. We enjoyed supper at a neat heritage house restaurant.

We found our way down to the waterfront for a walk – saw ducks, geese and swans. We drove Joan to her bank appointment, picked up Aunt Isabelle at the airport and got some clothes for Ed and visited him at the nursing home. We had supper at Swiss Chalet.

This is the day of Beth Truhlar’s funeral. It was very well done with between 40-50 people in attendance. I met some family members on Beth’s Mom’s side of the family. We caught our flight home at 10:00 p.m. and arrived at the farm by 1:00 a.m. It is good to be home.

A beautiful bright sunny day – though I did not go outside. We tried to get organized today after our trip but it just not coming together. Phoned Chris’s Mom re: our concern over her inability to see and read.

Our Winnipeg day – picked up Chris’s clock from the repair shop. We will keep it at home until it is its turn to be repaired. Lunch at Rae and Gerrys restaurant, and a few other errands. They all went well and we were home in good time.

Tackled the laundry today and managed to get a couple of batches of wine bottled. I decided not to tackle office work. Overcomers Outreach meeting this evening. We watched the opening ceremonies at Vancouver Winter Olympics. I thought it was well done.

A beautiful sunny day – went to Selkirk and did a little shopping while Chris had his Overcomers Outreach meeting. Then off to Ron and Leanne McMillan’s for a Valentines meal. April was also there so we had a good visit as well as a great meal. Chantel came back with us. She will stay for a week, supposedly to help with my spring cleaning.

Happy Valentines Day. Off to church – Chantel came along. I cooked T-Bone steaks and we had a candle light supper. Windy, but sunny – a good day to stay indoors. Leanne called to say that April had gone into labour and was transferred to the Women’s Hospital in Winnipeg.

Chantel and I tackled some cleaning today. We did the bathroom and made a start on the kitchen. I also got the walls and ceiling scrubbed in Chris’s office getting ready for painting. I even got the ceiling primed. It was a nice sunny day. Louis Riel day in Manitoba a holiday.

I got the walls primed in Chris’s office in the morning and then the 1st colour coat. My body feels all the climbing and paint rolling. Off to Bible study this evening. Chantel McMillan came with us.

Shopping in Beausejour for Chantel and I and Chris bought us lunch. I had April and Curtis Harms baby put on the prayer chain as April was sent back to Winnipeg Women’s Hospital – in labor again. I did not do any more painting today.

Happy Birth Day Rylee Grace Harms. Leanne called 2:00 a.m. to let us know that April and Curtis had a baby girl – 4 pounds 9 ounces – born via caesarian section. It took a while to get back to sleep after that exciting call. I painted the last coat in Chris’s office and got the book and literature order ready for Overcomers Outreach. Got some snow shoeing in as the weather was sunny and warm.

Off to Winnipeg by 8:30 – dropped Chantel off with Gayleen as we had a meeting with our investment counsellor. We picked up Chantel and did a few errands – visited April and Curtis and Rylee Grace Harms at the Hospital. Rylee is in the neonatal nursery at Children’s Hospital. She is breathing on her own. Praise God.

Off to Selkirk to purchase laminate flooring. Had lunch in Selkirk then continued into Winnipeg. I spent the afternoon visiting with Gayleen and Ashton while Chris had a meeting. We were home for supper.

Chris started ripping out the linoleum in his office to get the floor ready for the laminate installation. Men’s business meeting at the church this evening. I worked on getting Rylee’s quilt ready to layer and I got it layered ready for quilting.

A women’s luncheon at Dora Cross’s to discuss the direction of the Women’s Ministry Group. It was a good meeting with good ideas. Chris to Selkirk to get the needed tools as we will start the flooring project in his office tomorrow. He also had a visit with Ralph Thomas.

Chris’s men’s meeting in Selkirk this morning – I got the fabric selected for Craig’s “Beatles” quilt and got Rylee’s quilt layered and basted so I can take it to Calgary with me to work on. Chris was at Red Rock Bible camp to speak at Albright Church’s men’s retreat. Dena called this morning – her Mom (Karen) has breast cancer – please pray. McPhee and I went for a walk on the road, yay for us.

Church then off to Winnipeg to catch our flight to Calgary. But first we enjoyed dinner at “Montana’s” restaurant with Mike and Gayleen, William and Ashton to celebrate Gayleen’s birthday. We watched the Canada/US gold medal hockey game at the airport. Canada won. It was a great flight to Calgary.
