Undecorated the Christmas Tree and put away all the decorations. No Eggs Benedict Brunch this year as Chris says we have decluttered some of the busyness of our life. We enjoyed supper at Stead Ranch, a Chinese Buffet, with Ann Baker. It was an enjoyable time spent together. Cold today.

The south wind is really supposed to blow tonight, so I had Michael bring the boys out after lunch and leave them overnight. We enjoy their company – snug and sound asleep by 9:00 p.m. I got my Christmas gift from Blair – very nice.

The boys slept in till 8:00 a.m., at least that’s when they came and woke us up. Off to Winnipeg and had lunch at Salisbury House. I took the boys to their home and Chris did the errands. We were back home by 5:00 p.m. I am still working on Heather’s quilt which I started last January 1.

I’m not feeling too well today. Off to Beausejour for my mammogram this morning and then to get groceries. It is a pleasant day with a south wind. I got the payroll pages done up for 2008 and downloaded the CRA charts.

Men’s breakfast in Beausejour. I did laundry, ironing and hauled out my sewing machine for the new year. We watched TV, read and snow shoed.

Office work, cleaning and packing to get ready for my 3 days in the city looking after William and Ashton while Lolo (Sammy) is still in the Philippines. Chris is busy selling on the phones this week.

I was up and looking after the boys by 7:15 a.m. I managed to get William to school though the walking was treacherous because of the freezing rain earlier in the week. I’m enjoying my time with the boys.

A lovely day spent with Pat Senyk. She picked me up at 10:00 a.m. and I was back at Mike and Gayleen’s by 8:30 p.m. In between we perused Value Village and a few other stores. We just enjoyed each other’s company and of course ate lots.

Another fun day with William and Ashton. Busy of course. I was surprised how weary I felt when I got home. Gayleen learned today that her cousin in the Philippines application for immigration to Canada has been accepted.

Elders meeting this morning. I discovered my washing machine is no longer agitating. I phoned a repair place, they will be out tomorrow.

The repair man was out and announced my washing machine as “dead”. So, off to Lockport Appliances to purchase a new one. Not a bad price at $399.00. We had the trailer with us so we got it home and downstairs. It is a pleasant day outside.

Church this morning then home to get started on laundry. It’s a good day to spend in front of the fire, cold and windy. Chris and Alex to Selkirk at suppertime to work with one of our congregation – marital counselling.

A work day for me, cold and windy out. I got a couple more bookshelves sorted downstairs. I think I will have quite a few boxes to take to Value Village. Kirena called tonight to interview me as part of her homework.

No aerobics today, the classes will not start again till the end of January. Bible Study this evening, it was a good turnout. If it wasn’t for these activities, I would be hibernating.

I went into Winnipeg this afternoon in time for supper as I babysit William and Ashton tomorrow. A cold windy day but the highways were clear. Thank goodness for the bright sunshine.

Our day in Beausejour – a hair cut for me, grocery shopping and our appointments to get our eyes tested. We do not need new eyeglasses as our eyes have not changed. Women’s Ministry Meeting tonight at the church. We watched a video by Chonda Pierce.

Men’s Breakfast at Stead Ranch this morning. Pat and Barry Senyk had considered coming out but did not. I made soup, scrubbed floors and organized for tomorrow’s lunch. I also worked on Heather’s quilt.

A beautiful sunny day. Ken Hodgins, his mother Donna and Ann Baker were over for lunch after church. It is a cold day but doesn’t seem so bad when the sun shines.

It was a bad day on the stock market today. I received the yearly statements for the grandchildren’s RESPs, and they did not do at all well in the past year. Office work today for me.

Our first tea committee meeting of the new year. It was short as Dora told us of her decision to only have children 10 years and older in attendance at the tea. There was much discussion and we are to let Dora know by next week where we stand with this decision. Bible Study tonight.

Another day of cold and high wind chills. I postponed returning to TOPS for another week. Spent the day working in the basement decluttering. I have to be hard hearted and get rid of a lot of items we no longer use.

A warmer day with a SW wind. We managed to get out for some snowshoeing. We took all the Cross-Country skis up to Walter Whyte School. They took them all except the wooden pairs and all the poles. I finished emptying all the bookshelves downstairs.

Chris has decided to work today since we need to go to Winnipeg on Monday. We’ve booked an in-house workshop for June and some course seats into Calgary and Edmonton this week. All his patient phone work is paying off.

Chris had an Elder’s meeting at the church – not home till 1:30 p.m. A quick lunch and off to Beausejour for some groceries and some 2X4s and gyprock to build a wall to the north of the wood stove in the basement. Housework and laundry for me.

We had a potluck lunch at church today; it was a good turnout. It was a very pleasant day, so strapped on the snowshoes and enjoyed an hour outdoors.

Our date day in Winnipeg. We dropped off supper and McPhee with Mike and Gayleen. We started with a meeting with David Bardahl – lunch at Joeys – a movie “Juno” – shopping and errands. We enjoyed supper with Mike and Gayleen, William and Ashton. Home by 7:00 p.m. before the blizzard arrived.

A crazy day – so cold and windy – very high wind chills. Chris had an Elders meeting at the church, so Jackie Stenzil came to pick me up for exercise at Stead Hall. However, she slid into the ditch – praise God she was not to far from our lane. We visited till the men came back from the elders meeting.

Another bitterly cold day with high wind chills, but sunny. I got caught up on office work today and cleaned out the cupboard under the sink. I am determined to redo my kitchen cupboards this year.

Some office work today and started putting the bookshelves back in order downstairs. I worked on Heather’s quilt and did some sewing on Caitlin’s. I only went outside to feed the birds. A good day to enjoy the sunshine on this side of the window.

I went out to the barn this morning to switch the cats heat lamp back to the timer. We did have it running full time. However, as all three cats were still in their bed enjoying the heat, I was convinced to leave the heat lamp as is. I’m still machine sewing on Caitlin’s quilt.

Back to Aerobics at Stead Hall. I am up 4 pounds since mid-November. Happy Birthday Blair. Chris had an appointment with the chiropractor and we had Bible study this evening, so it was a busy day. Talked to Blair and Mom today, they sound good. Leanne and Chantel were there for a visit.

Elders meeting this morning for Chris. Chris came with me to Winnipeg to look after the boys while Michael wrote his exam. There was a strong south wind blowing and some areas of the roads were really drifting.

I worked on the ladybug pieces for Caitlin’s quilt, then got ready to head into Winnipeg to look after the boys. We did a few little crafts and all in all had a good afternoon. Back home by 6:30. It was a very sunny day.

I was headed to Winnipeg by noon – picked up the boys and a couple of other stops and back to the farm by 2:30 – not bad eh! We spent an enjoyable evening together.

Blizzard conditions overnight and into the morning, mostly strong wind but very little snow. Michael made it out from the city by 3:00 p.m. I am very tired tonight. Dave and Judy Otto visited, bringing pictures of Danielle. Michael will make a CD compilation of the pictures for a Grad gift for Danielle.

Bitterly cold this morning with high windchills. Chris and I were responsible for setting up the “Breaking of Bread” for the church this morning. We did not attend the interfaith service held at Grand Marais. Michael and I took the kids to Selkirk in the afternoon for an outing.

Another cold morning. We left for Beausejour shortly after 11:00 a.m. Chris had a haircut and McPhee his yearly visit to the vet (McPhee was quite aggravated about it). Michael had trouble getting his van going. We had lunch together in Beausejour.

Aerobics at Stead Hall this morning – no weight loss this week. We had snow this morning with wind. I enjoyed the afternoon cutting out pieces for a table runner I want to quilt for spring. Bible Study this evening.

Brr so cold. I did a little office work and then spent some time sewing. Off to Winnipeg by 2:30 p.m. to pick up binders at Grand and Toy and Mike’s for supper. We watched the boys while Michael went to his class after supper. A good evening. Home by 9:45 p.m.

Another bitterly cold day – office work for me and then Chris took me out for supper at Stead Ranch. It was steak and crab and other yummies. An enjoyable evening was had by all.

We made a trip to Winnipeg today. Chris had a meeting with United Way this morning. We enjoyed a great lunch at Joeys and a movie “27 Dresses”. No shopping today so we were home by suppertime.

Well, the weather has warmed up and now we have freezing rain. The church sleigh ride at Bird’s Hill Park was this afternoon. It was beautiful temperature wise but there were only 20 in attendance because of highway conditions. We supplied the firewood and looked after the fire pit.

Very windy and cold and snowy today. To church and then spent the rest of the day quilting and sitting. My backside sure felt it by night fall. Watched tv in the evening – a lazy day.

Still windy but the sun is shining brightly. I had a Tea Committee meeting this morning, home by 1:00 p.m. We enjoyed a visit with Don and Hazel Rudolf and Dick and Shirley Wonnacott this afternoon. Ann Baker came along as well.

Cold, cold, cold with a strong NW wind. Stead Road is very icy. Exercise today at Stead Hall. No weight loss, no weight gain. Bible study tonight. I picked up Mary Hannon and Ann Baker. It was another cold night.

Another cold day – my outing today was feeding the birds – otherwise I spent the day at work, quilting and tv watching. We watched the lunar eclipse from our living room window this evening.

Off to Winnipeg today with a stop at “Rembrandts” for lunch – a few errands and then a visit to the Boat Show at the Convention Center. There were some very expensive big boats and of course we looked at the pontoon boats. We enjoyed supper at Mike and Gayleen’s and saw her Philippines photos.

Laundry and housework – I also sewed up a length of fabric Gayleen had brought me from the Philippines. Made a table covering with it. We were invited for supper to Bob and Jackie Stenzil’s. Chris was to look at their computer which wasn’t working, he pronounced it dead. Jackie and I played some games.

A beautiful day – went snowshoeing – first time in a few weeks. I worked on quilting, did some reading and we bottled wine. An enjoyable day.

A pleasant day – monthly potluck at the church – not too many in attendance. I did not go snowshoeing today – still hurting from yesterday’s go. We did not watch the Academy Awards. There are not too many Hollywood actors/actresses I enjoy any more.

Exercise this morning at Stead Hall – no loss – no gain. Ann Baker and I visited Shirley Schellenberg this afternoon. We enjoyed seeing the pictures of their Hawaii trip. I must get some office work done one of these days.

Chris had his Dr appointment this a.m. to see how his cholesterol is doing. It has come down. I shopped for groceries and went to The Bargain Shop. Home by lunch time. We had two more registrations into the Ottawa workshop next week.

We left for Winnipeg before 9:00 a.m. I purchased myself a new cell phone and a new scanner/copier/printer. Chris had a meeting with United Way while I visited Gayleen and the boys. It was a windy and snowy drive home.

Busy day – laundry – getting Chris packed – putting together the annual reports for the Church annual meeting. A very windy day, blowing around the snow from yesterday. Trying to learn about my new cell phone – confusing.
