 Our annual “Eggs Benedict Brunch”.  Pat and Barry Senyk came out this morning, Ann Baker, Bob and Amy West and Dorothy Craigie.  We all had a great time.  It was sunny and cold today – we managed a walk.  Pat bought my exercise bike.

 A busy day at work, setting up the payroll pages for the new year. I got serious about TOPS and got back on the treadmill.  I phoned Heather about her quilt which I am ready to start.   It’s a warm day with freezing rain in Winnipeg.

 Another warm and sunny day. I got a short walk in and worked on cutting the pieces for Heather’s quilt.  Chris home by supper time – got busy on laundry to repack for the trip to Edmonton.

 Got everything organized and ready and we were able to leave for Edmonton by 11:00 a.m. It was a beautiful day for travelling across the prairies.  Got to Moose Jaw for the night.

Made it to Mom and Blair’s by 12:30, so we had lunch and celebrated Mom’s Birthday with her.  It was a great little visit.  We travelled to Drumheller for the night hoping to visit with Uncle Gordon tomorrow.  Mom is 84 years old today.

We phoned Uncle Gordon and Aunt Fryda.  We went for a visit and enjoyed coffee with them.  Carol dropped by – I hadn’t seen her since we were children.  It was great to see them all, though Aunt Fryda scolded us for staying at a hotel last night.  We were in Edmonton by supper.

Kirena started back to school today, so the afternoon was a good time for Sean and I to spend some time together.  We got to watch Sean’s dance class this evening.  He really enjoys the class.

 Chris had a meeting with Edmonton Police Services this morning.  He had lunch with James.  Dena and I did a little shopping this afternoon while Kirena was in school.  It is too get very cold.

There was a blizzard forecast for today.  Chris decided to take the bus to his workshop as he didn’t know how much snow and wind there would be.  The school bus still picked up Kirena.  After supper Chris drove Dena and I to get our hair done and of course a little shopping.

Another very cold day but sunny.  Kirena’s dance class this evening at 5:00 p.m.  Had to take Sean and Caitlin also picked up McKenna so we had a carload to look after.  It was fun though , what a busy family.

I looked after Caitlin while Dena took Sean shopping to buy skates and a helmet.  He starts skating tomorrow.  It was an enjoyable day.  Chris finished his workshop and we left for home by 4:00p.m. We stopped in North Battleford for the night.  It is very cold with a high windchill.

Arrived in Saskatoon by 11:00 a.m. and visited with Brenda and family. It was very windy and drifting across the highway.  Brenda brought us up to date on how hard the blizzard hit Saskatoon. We motored as far as Brandon by dark.

Home to the farm by noon.  We managed to get the car up the lane but Chris had quite a bit of snow blowing to do.  Very cold.  Got the laundry started.

Very cold.  -38 on our thermometer when we got up.  It kept us busy keeping the wood stove full.  Also busy with work and getting Chris ready to head into Winnipeg after supper for the week.

Cold again but a warming trend is coming in.  Judy Otto was not in today as Robyn is having surgery to put a pin in her broken thumb.  Craig called, he has also been doing some research into genealogy.  He let me know the 1911 census was released.

Busy again today at office work.  The weather is much pleasenter today. McPhee and I walked a ways up the road – not the full mile.  Cleaned the basement getting ready for the Ford family who will be out for the weekend.

Windy and cool – hauled in 2 loads of firewood.  My back felt it by evening.  I managed to get caught up on my office work and continued cutting the pieces of fabric for Heather’s quilt.

A good day catching up with housework.  I scrubbed and waxed the kitchen floor.  Chris arrived home about 5:00 p.m. Geoff and Julie Ford and their children were here by 6:15 for supper and an overnight stay.  Geoff is speaking at Men’s Breakfast tomorrow.

Men’s Breakfast at Stead Ranch.  Julie and the children, (Austin and Veronica) and I just visited and got to know each other a little better.  The children are very well behaved.  Chris and I went to Pine Falls late afternoon for more fabric for Heather’s quilt and of course supper at the Coach Room.  One of our favourite restaurants.

It has been a month since we have been to church, so it seemed somewhat odd today.  Laundry and getting Chris ready to go back into Winnipeg this coming week. Did a little snowshoeing this afternoon.

I have decided to go into Winnipeg with Chris today.  We managed to take in a movie today “The Pursuit of Happiness”.  We really enjoyed it.  We had supper at the new Chinese Buffet on McPhillips St – stayed over at Mike and Gayleens.

I went into the United Way with Chris this morning.  I taped the charts together and hung them (taped) on the walls.  Chris took me back to Mike and Gayleen’s and I spent the afternoon there – Chris back to the United Way.  We were back home for Bible Study this evening.

Chris up early and back into the city for another day of consulting.  I hauled in firewood and puttered around.

Chris arrived home this evening instead of tomorrow.  The consulting work he needs to do now can be done at home.  I spent time cutting quilt pieces – it’s a good thing I enjoy it.

Chris was very busy with office work today finishing up the two consulting projects.  I taped the charts together – that seems to be my job now.

It was a day to relax and just do what needs to be done.  So, I worked on cutting quilt pieces (still for Heather’s quilt) and managed to get in some snowshoeing.  It was snowing at the time, so it was peaceful and beautiful.

A busy Sunday.  Potluck after church so I was up early making sandwiches. Then to Winnipeg for 2:30 as I babysat the boys.  Chris had an Elders meeting – then he dropped off the donation for the “Burma” refugees at Maples church.  We had supper at Mike and Gayleen’s and stayed overnight.

We had meetings most of the day starting with our financial advisor – then to the accountant to sign the papers to send to Revenue Canada for year end.  We also enjoyed lunch with our accountant.  Chris had his final meeting with Arctic Co-op to finish up the consult.  We were home by supper time.

FIT Club started again for the new year.  I managed to gain 5 pounds – I’m surprised it wasn’t more.  Tackled my office work this afternoon.  Chris was in the city for the final meeting for the United Way consult.

I had intended to attend TOPS tonight but wasn’t feeling too great so decided to stay home.  I don’t spend much time exercising these days.

I’m feeling much better today.  I tackled my office work and got ready to work at more quilt preparation – washing the fabric etc.

Ground Hog Day.  I think it was too cold for the poor fellow to come out.  We enjoyed lunch with Alex and Dora Cross at the Coach Room in Pine Falls.  We had to come home via the fabric store and picked up some “sewing machine” brochures.

Men’s Breakfast in Beausejour.  I went along as McPhee had his annual check-up at the Vets clinic.  I also needed some groceries.  We bottled wine in the afternoon and just hunkered down in our nice warm home.

Happy Birthday Blair – phoned and had a fun conversation.  It was very cold today but bright and sunny.  Our first Tea Committee meeting was held today at Dora Cross’s.  I finished cutting the pieces for Heather’s quilt and started Ashton’s.

Exercise at Stead Hall this morning and I am up 2 pounds again for the week.  Yikes I’ve got to get some control here.  I feel awful about things but can’t seem to want to change anything yet.  Cold – no exercise – good eating – is this an excuse?

Still Cold! –  very high windchills – I sure don’t feel like going out in this weather so just office work – reading – Ashton’s quilt and of course eating.  Ahh winter.  Today Ann Baker and I visited with Don and Hazel Rudolph.  We had a great visit.

I have finished reading “Emmas Journal” a book I borrowed from Jackie Stenzil.  I am going to do some of the goal setting suggestions I learned from this book.  Set 4 for the next 4 months – intellectual goal – spiritual goal – physical goal – relational goal.   Made a trip to Winnipeg today.

I had McPhee into the Vet’s by 8:15 for his dental cleaning (sounds odd doesn’t it).  Home to tackle the laundry and book a haircut for Chris when we go to pick up McPhee.

Clear, sunny and cold.  I cleaned house and prepared supper for our guests, Bob and Jackie Stenzil.  We had an enjoyable time together.

Double church today.  After our church service we attended the interdenominational service at the Grand Marais Family Days Celebration.  James phoned and we booked his airfare for his March trip home.  3 deer at my bird feeder today.

We had a luncheon in Selkirk today – a small seminar on Business – ways to transfer your business for retirement.  We continued into Winnipeg to pick up a Staples order.

Winnipeg again today on various errands.  A meeting for Chris and a stop to drop off the door for our wood stove as the glass cracked in it this morning.  It is a bad time to be without our stove as it is so cold.

We enjoyed Valentines Day supper at Stead Ranch tonight.  It was a lovely steak and lobster meal.  We met up with a few neighbours.  Jackie Stenzil and I went to Pine Falls this morning to order our new computerized sewing machines.

Off to Winnipeg again this morning to pick up our repaired wood stove door.  God was good to us that the repair happened so quickly.  We had Ann Baker and her friend Eileen over for supper tonight.  It was a good visit.

Off the church this morning at 10:00 a.m. for a run through of Chris’s sermon and order of service etc. We just enjoyed the afternoon – finished watching Season 3 of 24.  This show is highly addictive.  Aunt Elsie (Seafoot) Syverson passed away today.

Pat and Barry Senyk came out this morning.  Barry is attending Men’s Breakfast with Chris.  Pat and I just visited.  The church “Sleigh Ride and wiener roast” at Birds Hill Park was this afternoon.  It could have been a little warmer but we had enjoyable fellowship.

Today Chris gave his message at church.  Very well done – also Chris and Bob Stenzil were brought forward for consideration for Eldership at the church.  I took Chris in to Mike and Gayleen’s in the evening because of the threatening weather forecast for tomorrow.

Not a bad day weatherwise, the snow did not arrive.  I worked on Ashton’s quilt and some office work.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon at Ann Bakers’s and a good supper.  A great visit with Eileen (Ann’s friend) also. Bible study this evening – snowy when we came home.

Very snowy and windy today, but it was sunny by late afternoon.  Strong wind so hopefully it will blow my lane clear.  My new sewing machine is in at Pine Falls but can’t get out to get it.   I did manage to get my office work caught up.

A relaxing day for me – thought about going into Selkirk but opted out to sew on Ashton’s quilt.  Supposed to be nasty weather coming in for tomorrow.  I dusted and vacuumed – lane blown clear.

Our Tea Committee meeting this morning was held at Jackie Stenzil’s.  The weather was supposed to be nasty so was concerned about my trip into Winnipeg to pick Chris up at the airport.  We were home by 5:00 p.m. Chris had taken an earlier flight.

Alex and Dora Cross were over at 3:00 p.m. for a visit and supper.  We all left at 7:00 p.m. to attend Scott and Crystal’s Social in Winnipeg.  It is very snowy and blowy; we were back home by 11:00 p.m.

Lots of snow by wake-up time this morning. I was surprised to see how many people made it out to church. Potluck this morning  I tried out my new sewing machine this afternoon – AWESOME

Busy workday – but managed to get a loop of snowshoeing done.  The snow is very deep, so the first person down the trail had a hard job.  McPhee tried it for a  little way then let Chris take over and go first.

Exercise day – no weight loss this week, no weight change for the month of February.  To Beausejour for lunch, groceries, bird seed, Chris’s medications.  Men’s business meeting at the church tonight.  4 new men out.

A Winnipeg day – finally made it to Marathon Threads – bought a membership – now I have enough threads for a year or more.  I dropped Chris off at Mike and Gayleen’s for the night as he will catch an early morning flight tomorrow to Toronto.
