Chris left at about 9:00 for the airport with Craig & Dena & the children. They went early as there is a winter travel advisory out. The plane didn’t leave till 2 p.m. Michael & Gayleen left for home about 11:30 a.m. Chris home by noon. Watched a movie this afternoon, some games this evening. Snow arrived about 7 p.m. here.

Chris, James and Mom B left for Weyburn about 8:00 a.m. Chris phoned at 11:00 a.m. from Portage LaPrairie. They were waiting for Hwy 1 west to open. They finally gave up waiting and went back to Oakville, down to Hwy 2 and finally got to Weyburn about 4:30 p.m. Chris and James were back home at the farm by 11:30 p.m.

Cold this morning, about -34, but a very sunny day with no wind. Chris had the snow blower out opening a path to the barn and the woodshed so I could feed the birds. I attempted to get some office work done – made a start at it.

Left for Winnipeg about 1:00 p.m. Went to Moxies for lunch and then the movie “Aviator”. We really enjoyed the movie. It is bitterly cold today but bright and sunny. Dropped James off at Mike and Gayleen’s about 8:00 p.m. He catches the plane to Calgary at 7:00 a.m.

Managed to get down and tackle my workload today. No TOPS meeting tonight as it is just too cold with a high windchill. James got to Calgary ok. Mom had her eye appointment in Saskatoon today. Blair drove her there.

Mom 82 years old today. I worked all day on my office work. I am an emotional wreck these days what with Dad’s death and Radar’s steady deterioration. Will not attend Bible Study tomorrow morning. I need some healing time.

I phoned Mom today for her birthday. She and Blair had a good trip to Saskatoon for her eye Dr appointment. She has transferred Dr’s from Regina to Saskatoon. We were in Winnipeg today, enjoyed supper at Mike and Gayleen’s.

Chris and I did some snowshoeing today. It is the first time I have been out doing that this winter. I really enjoyed it. Other than that I just relaxed today.

We attended Wayside Gospel Chapel this morning. It was a good service. We were home by 12:30 and got Chris organized for his week away. I am now soaking Radar’s dog food in warm water so he is able to eat it.

We had a few appointments in Winnipeg this morning. We enjoyed lunch at Moxies and then I dropped Chris off at the airport. He has a workshop starting tomorrow in Edmonton.

A nice day. They are predicting a blizzard for tomorrow, so I hauled in 2 wagon loads of firewood. That should keep me going as it is to get very cold. Went to Bible Study this evening.

We have a blizzard forecast for today. I did not go to TOPS though it was not cancelled. I occupied myself with office work and did some crafting. Judy Otto and I did some snowshoeing this morning. It was snowing, but no wind and not too cold.

It was very cold and windy but Judy Otto made it into work. The snow was fluffy, so the drifts weren’t too bad. I just enjoyed my day, work, cross stitch and TV, a bath and reading. And of course, an exercise video. I’m trying to get a little more exercise done this year.

COLD high wind chills again today, but bright and sunny. Left by 11:00 a.m. to go to the Stead Post Office and then to the airport to pick up Chris. I was a little early so stopped for a visit with Gayleen and William and Ashton.

Still very cold. I went out to feed the birds but that was all for me. Chris was out to haul in firewood. I worked on a quilt this afternoon and read by the fire. Tough eh!

-42 by 8:30 a.m. on our thermometer this morning. It warmed up to -38 for the day. Went to church then home to just read and relax for the afternoon. It was a bright and sunny day though. I talked to my sister Heather for 2 hours tonight on the phone.

It warmed up today – mainly because an Alberta Clipper coming through. High winds this afternoon. Bible study this evening, very enjoyable.

We had some more snow again today. I did not go to TOPS again. I just can’t seem to get motivated to attend. However I did get to Beausejour this morning for groceries and dog food.

Cloudy and cold, and more snow. The snowplow finally came in and opened up our lane this morning. Chris had a dental appointment this morning, replacing a filling.

I have a nasty cold – so did not go to the Women’s Bible Study this morning. Chris took Ann Baker to the study as he was to have breakfast with Alex Cross. Snow and very windy this evening. Cold again. Winnipeg has now had 90 centimeters of snow.

Cleaned house today and prepared food for lunch tomorrow. We bottled the batch of white wine we had ready for bottling at Christmas time. Dena phone, Kirena and Sean have croup – everyone is tired there.

Church this morning. We had Maurice and Dolores Pelland and Ann Baker over for lunch. We had a great visit together.

We had a trip to Winnipeg today. Chris to check out the site of the workshop next week and I visited with Gayleen and William and Ashton. We did a little shopping, nothing too exciting.

Bible study this evening. It was a very windy day. I always learn a lot at the Bible studies. But I feel far from the Lord these days. I’m impatient and depressed.

I decided to forego TOPS this week. I’m not actually sure if I will continue attending. Though I really need to kickstart my weight loss efforts again.

We went to Winnipeg to see the movie “Sideways”. I wasn’t impressed. I am in a bit of a depression myself and seeing a movie about a depressed man did not cheer me up. Supper at Branigans, didn’t enjoy that either.

This was the last women’s Bible Study – I finally attended and was blessed by the discussion. Afterwards we went for lunch with Alex and Dora Cross. We took the dogs to the vet. McPhee had his annual vaccinations. We also explored options to see if there is anything we can do for Radar – we will proceed to leave things as they are.

Bright sunshine today – the temperature is to rise all day. I washed bottles for wine bottling this morning. Bottled 2 batches this afternoon.

Potluck (sandwich and desert) after church this morning. We had an enjoyable time visiting and were home by 1:00. We did some snowshoeing this afternoon.

We are enjoying our mid-winter thaw. Judy Otto in the office this morning. We will have her in again next Monday – as Chris is away this week and business is slow so not much for her to do. Chris is in Winnipeg and staying at Mike and Gayleen’s. He is teaching a workshop.

This is the first day of the Winnipeg workshop. Alex Cross is attending, driving in each day from Victoria Beach. This will give him a better idea of what we do. Our business is still really slow! I walked to the Lutheran church and back this afternoon.

I worked at office work the morning then started scrubbing down the kitchen. I started behind the stove, so I got the ugly part done first. No TOPS this evening as I have no car. Chris is in Winnipeg for the workshop this week.

I am still washing down the kitchen. Chris made it home from the Winnipeg workshop in time for supper. We watched TV all evening and enjoyed some wine.

Washed a little more kitchen wall – went to Pine Falls – Chris to the chiropractor – me to the fabric store for flannel for the backing for Sean’s quilt. We enjoyed supper at Alex and Dora Cross’s – homemade pizza and wine night.

Blair 36 years old today, called him about supper time. Leanne, Ron and Chantel were helping him celebrate. We went snowshoeing this afternoon – succeeded in lengthening the trail some.

Off to church, then home for a little while. Spent the late afternoon and early evening at Alex and Dora Cross’s for their Super Bowl party. The men watched the game – the women played games.

Chris started working on the phones again today. Maybe that will get a little business coming our way. Very cold and windy out. The little birds are all puffed up to keep warm. Sunny though. Mom, Blair and Heather phoned tonight.

This was our first Aerobics class of the new year as Inger just returned from her visit to Denmark. I am up seven pounds, and I have already lost some. Winnipeg this afternoon for some groceries and a visit with William and Ashton.

I did not go to TOPS again tonight. I can’t seem to get inspired to go again. We went to Beausejour this afternoon for Chris to get his hair cut in readiness for 2 weeks work in Edmonton starting next week.

It is a nicer day with some snow. Travelled to Winnipeg again today, left about 4:30 p.m. – supper at Wintergarden restaurant with a stop at Staples and Home Depot. We were home by 7:45. That is the appropriate amount of time to spend in Winnipeg.

Sad sad day. We had Radar put to sleep this morning. He had a very peaceful end. Goodbye my wonderful friend. We will miss you after thirteen and a half years with us.

Pat and Barry Senyk came out this morning to spend the weekend with us. We went snowshoeing, watched a couple of movies and then walked to Stead Ranch for our Valentine’s supper. A great meal was enjoyed and a great walk home.

I got my work done up and then tackled the kitchen again. I put Sean’s quilt up on the frame yesterday and basted the layers together. Removed it from the frame today and got ready to hand quilt.

Seniors exercise again today at Stead Hall. We started doing some floor exercise. There were many complaints. Ann Baker refused to attend. I found it difficult but if we stick with it we will all benefit from it. Bible Study this evening.

I finished washing my kitchen walls this morning, then packed up and left for Winnipeg about 1:00 p.m. I will babysit William and Ashton tonight while Mike and Gayleen attend “Celebrations”. Gayleen had some bad news; her mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Since I stayed up till 1:00 a.m. watching the Westminster dog show I was surprised to have William wake me up at 7:30 this morning. William and I watched “Babe” before we went up for breakfast. Gayleen and her brothers will go to see their mother Lydia next week. I will look after William and Ashton.

Into Winnipeg to pick up Chris at the airport. Took supper into Mike and Gayleen’s. William came with me to the airport. We were home by 9:30 p.m. It was a good day. I even got my counter tops cleared and cleaned. It looks good.

Did some office work, laundry and got organized to go and spend some days at Mike and Gayleen’s next week. I will help Mike with William and Ashton as Gayleen goes to Vancouver to be with her Mom.

A snowy day but warmer this afternoon. We managed to get out snowshoeing after church. We just enjoyed the day, reading, working on Sean’s quilt and tv watching.

Took Chris into the airport to catch the 2:00 p.m. flight to Edmonton. I went to Mike and Gayleen’s as I am babysitting for the week.

My goodness, these grandsons of mine keep me busy. Gayleen has gone to Vancouver to visit with her Mom and go with her to her Dr visits. Lydia has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Michael came home early this afternoon so I could get home and get started on some office work as I gave to go in to Winnipeg again tomorrow to pick up Chris at the airport.

Did office work then to Beausejour for my hair appointment – then into Winnipeg to have a little visit with Mike and Gayleen before I picked Chris at the airport at 7:30 p.m. Home by 9:30.

Did the laundry, some house cleaning and got packed for our trip tomorrow. We went for an early supper at Stead Ranch. Home to do some reading and early to bed. Chris spent some time today trying to get my computer to work better.

Went to the first part of the Church service this morning then left for Winnipeg to catch the flight to Edmonton – Chris to work. I will spend the week visiting with Craig and Dena, Sean and Kirena. There was 3-4 inched of fresh snow this morning – so pretty and white.
