Bev worked at the Carnival Drive-In on North Albert in Regina

Mom, that was quite a job description…Dena and I were laughing imagining you reading and listening to that. Especially the assumption that all the coustomers are men ![]()
Beverly
I think most of the were. At least as far as I can remember.
Dena
Women would have been at home cooking, cleaning, etc.
Dena
I was thinking about the time period – so much has changed over the years.
Beverly

Dena

There may be another factor at work from the instructions written in 1970. There were no gender-neutral pronouns in use. “They”, “Their” and “Them” were viewed as awkward in that context of the day. The “he/she,” “him/her” convention is much more recent.
